The individuals who appear on this notification have been convicted of an offense that requires registration with the Arkansas Crime Information Center. Further their previous criminal history places them in a classification level that reflects the potential to re-offend. The offenders have advised the West Fork Police Department that they will be residing at: Louis Cleek---81 Northwood, and Kenneth Hulen---135 Campbell Ave. THE OFFENDERS ARE NOT WANTED BY THE POLICE AT THIS TIME. THE NOTIFICATION IS NOT INTENDED TO INCREASE FEAR; RATHER IT IS OUR BELIEF THAT AN INFORMED PUBLIC IS A SAFER PUBLIC. The West Fork Police Department has no legal authority to direct where a sex offender lives. Unless court ordered restrictions exist, this offender is constitutionally free to live wherever he chooses.

For more information on Sex Offenders in the area visit the ACIC web site at http://www.acic.org/ .

Shop With A Cop

Greetings,

I Would like to take this opportunity to thank Wal-Mart for their donation of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) and to the citizens of West Fork for their donation of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) and a box full of toys. The money and toys went towards our second annual Shop With A Cop Program.

Employees from the West Fork School district selected the participating families. Three families representing nine children were selected. This past Friday the children, their parents, SRO Officer Kathy Gilliam, and Police Secretary Allenia Brannan went to the Wal-Mart on Highway 62. There was much anticipation and when the children were told that they would each get about $150.00 to spend they were ecstatic. A shopping spree ensued and each child was so excited and thankful. Please look at the attached pictures.

Again let me say "Thanks" to all of you who helped make this day possible. I know that these children will never forget their "2009" Christmas!

The West Fork Community continues to give to those who are in need and it makes me proud to be just a small part of it.

May the Lord Bless you and I look forward to next year!

Chief M. During the early morning hours of November 07, 2009, my home was burglarized. The bandit had made off with my purse and its contents.

I immediately called my credit card provider. The credit card office stated that my credit cards were already being used by the offender. By happenstance, I spoke to a neighbor who said her adult son, had been arrested that morning in Washington County, AR. Prior to that information , I had considered her son a suspect in the burgalry. I forwarded this information to our local law enforcement officers.

In speaking with our local officers, I have since learned the following:

A local offender entered my home and stole my purse. Using my credit cards, the offender went on a shopping spree. Only a few short hours into the ordeal, Officer Ingalls apprehended the criminal. Officer Ingalls discovered my credit cards during his arrest of the offender. Local Officers told me, that my case was closed because of Officer Ingalls and his work.

Today I have my property back and I was saved the crisis of being a victim of idenity theft (my purse contained my drivers license, ssn card, etc.) The offender is in jail and soon our local court will issue an arrest warrant. Most important, I have piece of mind - all this because of your very able and kind Officer Ken Ingalls.

Please share this letter with Officer Ingalls, your mayor, and all those who would appreciate the work and contribution of your staff. Clearly, you operate an efficient and effective deparment that is dedicated to making positive impacts.

I thank you, your department, and Officer Ingalls!

God Bless,

Betty Harvey

A CHILD IS MISSING

EVERY 40 SECONDS ANOTHER CHILD IN THE UNITED STATES BECOMES MISSING.....

The first several hours after a child, elderly or disabled person is reported missing can be critical to the successful outcome of the case. A CHILD IS MISSING (ACIM) is a valuable tool for law enforcement. ACIM provides timely information to the public about the missing person. ACIM will generate telephone calls to local residents and businesses after initiation by law enforcement.
It is the policy of the West Fork Police Department to utilize ACIM for missing children, elderly and disabled persons whenever the criteria of the following procedures are met.

A. Missing Person

1. If the missing person is a child (2-16), an elderly person (with Alzheimer's) or a disabled person (in danger) the investigating officer may immediately notify ACIM

2. Other circumstances will need approval from ACIM.

When a person has been reported missing to a law enforcment agency, the officer calls ACIM and provides pertinent information about the individual such as description, clothes worn and time and location last seen. The ACIM technician pulls up the location provided with the computerized mapping systems. Then a personalized alert message is recorded and phoned out to the area where the child/person was last seen.

With its high-tech telephony, A Child Is Missing can place up to 1,000 calls in 60 seconds. There is a 98 persent listen rate by residents/business answering phones. Call recipients are asked to call police with any information they have about the missing child. Answering machines will record ACIM calls so that residents will receive the alert when they return. The progam is available 24/7, 365 days.

ACIM does not have unlisted phone numbers in its calling files, but can add unlisted numbers provided by owners who want to be contacted in case of a search in their area. No one has access to the phone numbers used but ACIM.

Residents can add or remove their phone numbers including cell phones by visiting the ACIM website http://achildismissing.org/sign.asp or by calling 888-875-2246.

HELP US HELP YOU

ADD YOUR NUMBER TO THE ACIM ALERT SYSTEM!

Accident Reports

The West Fork Police Department has now made traffic accident reports available through the internet. This is now our preferred method of report distribution. If you need a copy of an accidnet report please go to www.westforkar.policereports.us or www.policereports.us after 3 to 5 business days and click on the appropriate link. From our report search page, you will be able to search for your report, view it and print it at your convenience. You can search for reports using the date of the accident, the driver's name or the location of the accident. We currently charge a fee of $13.00 for copies of reports. You can pay for your reports through this secure site with a credit card or you may contact PoliceReports.US at 800-489-0190 to see if you qualify for a prepaid account.

Welcome

We would like to welcome you to the Police Departments blog.
